Description

American Traveler is seeking a Home Health Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience and Homecare Homebase/OASIS proficiency for a home care agency serving Suburban Maryland.

Details

• Home Health setting covering Montgomery, Prince Georges, Charles, and St Marys Counties in Maryland
• Contractors assigned to a group of zip codes within one county based on staffing needs
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• May be requested to float to cover another zip code as needed
• Uses HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) Pointcare EMR and OASIS documentation
• Clinicians use personal vehicles to travel between patient visits

Requirements

• Current BLS certification required
• MD license required (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years
• Homecare Homebase/OASIS experience required, including OASIS-E
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
• Skills should include patient assessment, adaptive and assistive devices, body mechanics, gait belt and Hoyer lift use, pain and skin integrity assessment
• Experience with cardiopulmonary/circulatory conditions such as COPD and CHF preferred
• Experience with geriatric and orthopedic patient populations preferred
• Home exercise program development and patient/family education skills preferred
• Must maintain a reliable personal vehicle with valid licensure and insurance

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include home-based physical therapy assessment, treatment planning, and documentation using OASIS standards
• Mileage is reimbursed from the first to last patient visit of the day
• No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first two weeks
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• Compliance modules, labs, and drug screening must be completed shortly after signing to avoid contract cancellation
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
