Accounting Manager

A global financial institution looking for an AVP to join its Legal Entity Control team. You'll own the accounting and reporting for a group of legal entities across its banking and asset management businesses, working directly with senior finance leadership on a lean team with a flat structure. The firm is investing in automation and AI across accounting and reporting, so we want someone who wants to improve how the work gets done, not just run it.

What you'll do

• Own the month-end close for assigned legal entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, expense accruals, and intercompany activity
• Perform monthly balance sheet substantiation and evaluate the adequacy of accruals, escalating key items early
• Prepare quarterly regulatory reporting and capital monitoring for the entities you cover
• Help prepare annual audited statutory and U.S. GAAP financial statements and footnote disclosures
• Prepare quarterly financials for internal stakeholders and external investors
• Produce monthly and quarterly analytics with commentary on balance sheet and P&L variances
• Work with Corporate Accounting, Regulatory Reporting, FP&A, Tax, and Treasury to make sure items are accounted for properly
• Lead process improvement and automation efforts, and work with IT on system enhancements
• Support ad hoc projects as they come up

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• 4 to 6 years of experience, ideally Big Four audit with financial services clients, or legal entity control or corporate accounting at a bank or asset manager
• CPA preferred, CPA candidates considered
• Experience with Workiva, Oracle, Tableau, or Alteryx a plus
• Hands-on use of AI tools or automation to create efficiencies is a big plus
