Director, Business Development

In this role you will lead the pursuit of construction opportunities in Palm Beach County, building strategic partnerships with architects, engineers, developers and owners. You will translate corporate growth plans into local capture strategies, manage industry relationships, and support bids and proposals with cross-functional teams. You'll represent Suffolk at events and ensure consistent brand messaging while shaping long-term market plans. • Identify qualified opportunities through strategic relationships with key industry players
• Provide market leadership and stay current on regional developments
• Apply market knowledge to form pre-qualified opportunity and client lists
• Develop and execute account plans
• Execute agency/association membership plans to grow relationships
• Manage CRM and maintain accurate data
• Collaborate with Marketing to ensure brand consistency
• Support RFP responses and bid opportunities after qualification
• Assist in preparing document packages for interviews
• Contribute to long-term strategic plans and translate strategy into local BD and capture plans
• Provide clear communication and data analysis to clients and teams
• Represent Suffolk at industry events and deliver strong public presentations

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or relevant discipline
• 7 to 10 years of Business Development experience in the West Palm market
• Extensive knowledge of construction markets, business sectors, and relationships
• Familiarity with construction concepts, definitions, practices, and procedures
• Adaptable and able to evolve with industry and market changes
• Strong communication and organizational skills; self-directed
• Experience communicating broad strategic initiatives to stakeholders and teams
• Desire to rapidly build expertise in new regions and/or industry verticals
• Understanding of market dynamics and client-facing trends
• Tenacity and entrepreneurial mindset; ability to collaborate in a matrix organization
