Job Description

Position Overview

Securify is seeking an Installation Technician II in Reno, Nevada, who can complete standard security system installations with minimal supervision.

This role is for a capable field technician who understands how the whole system works, not just how to pull cable or mount devices. You will install, configure, test, commission, and troubleshoot alarm systems, access control, and security cameras while helping newer technicians develop their skills.

What You Will Do

  • Install and commission complete alarm systems, including panels, keypads, contacts, motion detectors, water sensors, glass-break detectors, and panic or duress devices.
  • Mount and wire control panels, power supplies, and associated boards with clean, serviceable terminations.
  • Install and commission access-controlled doors, including readers, locks, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, and associated power.
  • Install, aim, configure, and test security cameras and connect them to recording systems.
  • Pull, terminate, test, and label complete cable runs from field devices to panels, racks, or equipment locations.
  • Read blueprints and wiring diagrams to lay out devices, cable routes, and conduit.
  • Install and secure conduit and build organized racks and equipment panels.
  • Perform standard system programming and configuration according to Securify practices.
  • Independently troubleshoot common wiring, power, device, and communication problems using a multimeter and other test equipment.
  • Complete punch-list work, basic service tasks, and system testing with clear documentation.
  • Explain basic system operation to clients and provide a professional handoff.
  • Support Technician I team members through practical guidance and a strong example of safe, high-quality work.

What You Bring

  • Typically 3 to 5 years of hands-on low-voltage installation experience involving alarm systems, access control, and security cameras.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete standard installations from start to finish with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with device wiring, control panels, power supplies, and basic system programming.
  • Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and confident use of a digital multimeter.
  • Clear documentation and professional client communication.
  • Ability to plan your day, manage assigned tasks, and communicate progress or obstacles.
  • A calm, respectful approach to schedule changes, technical problems, and feedback.
  • Reliable transportation to assigned work locations and availability for overtime when project needs require it.

Helpful Experience

  • Manufacturer training in alarm, access control, or camera systems.
  • Familiarity with IP addressing and network connectivity for security devices.
  • Experience building equipment racks and organized panel layouts.
  • Experience coaching junior technicians or coordinating work on smaller installations.

Benefits and Growth

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Basic life insurance and long-term disability insurance.
  • 401(k) with employer contribution.
  • Paid time off and sick leave.
  • 10 paid holidays per year.
  • Monthly stipends for phone, food, and gym memberships.
  • Training and development opportunities.

Our growth path supports advancement into installation leadership as you demonstrate the ability to plan work, guide a crew, troubleshoot more complex systems, and deliver complete projects.

Work Environment

This is an active field position involving tools, ladders, conduit, cabling, and security equipment. Work may involve standing, bending, kneeling, working at heights or in tight spaces, and lifting or carrying equipment and materials. Reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals to perform essential job functions.

Apply

Submit your resume and describe a security installation you completed with minimal supervision. Include the systems involved and your responsibility for programming, testing, and troubleshooting.
