About the Opportunity
We have partnered with a premier global biotech and pharmaceutical leader to secure a contract Reliability Engineer specializing in CMMS implementation. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-visibility, multi-building campus launch during its critical construction and commissioning phase.
This is a true ground-up, hands-on role. As advanced manufacturing systems transition from construction to operational status, you will be the gatekeeper ensuring all asset frameworks, preventive programs, and data structures are flawlessly established before the facility goes fully live.
Current Phase of the Facility
The site is in its early operational turnover phase. Multi-million dollar production assets are actively being handed over from construction teams, meaning system structures are blank slates waiting to be built out.
Your immediate tactical priorities will include:
- Designing and mapping comprehensive asset hierarchies as equipment transitions to operations.
- Constructing robust preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and technical task lists prior to production start-up.
- Cataloging and loading critical spare parts inventory data linked directly to high-priority equipment.
- Aligning operational asset profiles with process control and automation platforms like DeltaV.
Core Responsibilities
- Architect and manage the backend data structures of the CMMS platform, including work order blueprints, asset registries, user access controls, and recurring task schedules.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional Engineering, Maintenance, and Validation units to systematically ingest newly turned-over equipment data.
- Author and deploy preventive maintenance procedures rooted in manufacturer guidelines (OEM), strict GMP regulations, and equipment criticality ratings.
- Maintain exceptional data integrity across master records, equipment bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering vendor documentation.
- Serve as the primary, cross-departmental liaison bridging Maintenance, Reliability, Quality Assurance, and Operations.
- Design training workflows and lead training sessions for site technicians and engineers ahead of the system go-live date.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex configuration or data-mapping discrepancies alongside corporate IT and software vendors.
- Guard the site's compliance posture by enforcing cGMP documentation standards for all initial maintenance records.
Qualifications & Experience
- Educational background consisting of a Degree or Technical Certificate in Engineering, Reliability, Maintenance Management, or a related technical discipline (equivalent hands-on industry experience is fully valued).
- Demonstrated track record of managing, implementing, or administering enterprise CMMS applications (such as Maximo, SAP PM, Blue Mountain RAM, eMaint or similar).
- Proven familiarity with equipment reliability standards and asset care strategies within heavily regulated cGMP manufacturing environments.
- Prior experience supporting greenfield facility startups, major capital expansions, or complex construction-to-operations handovers is highly desirable.
- Adaptability and grit; comfortable establishing order, clarity, and system architecture when starting with incomplete or fluid engineering datasets.
- Excellent interpersonal and communicative skills to smoothly collaborate across Validation, Quality, Engineering, and Production teams.
- An analytical, detail-driven mindset—understanding that clean data entry directly dictates the future reliability and compliance of the entire plant.
