Lead Creative Dessert Production as an Executive Pastry Chef in Baltimore:

Zoe's Just Dezzerts, LLC is seeking an Executive Pastry Chef to bring artistry, precision, and leadership to an in person culinary role in Baltimore, Maryland. This is an exciting opportunity for a pastry chef, dessert chef, bakery chef, or culinary leader who wants meaningful influence over menus, signature sweets, and special occasion creations. You will have the opportunity to showcase your craft, shape memorable guest experiences, and lead with a passion for exceptional scratch made food.

We are a bakery with a mission -- to serve dellicious desserts while providing employment opportunities to those on the autism spectrum. The Chef must be able to use patience, compassion, and empathy to those on the spectrum who work in our kitchen and/or as servers.

What You Will Do:

• Lead the planning, preparation, and presentation of high quality pastries, desserts, and specialty baked goods.
• Create seasonal menus and distinctive dessert offerings that balance creativity, guest appeal, food quality, and profitability.
• Develop polished plated desserts, wedding cakes, fondant work, and other custom confections with consistent visual appeal.
• Oversee daily pastry kitchen operations, including production schedules, portion control, food cost management, and quality standards.
• Oversee inventory.
• Apply strong knife skills, scratch cooking techniques, and a detail focused approach to every recipe and finished plate.
• Collaborate with the management team to support a cohesive menu, including opportunities to contribute knowledge of a variety of ethnic desserts.
• What You Will Bring:
• You bring demonstrated experience as an Executive Pastry Chef, Pastry Chef, Sous Chef, Baker, or comparable culinary professional in a quality focused kitchen.
• You have strong menu planning and seasonal menu development skills, with the ability to turn ideas into consistent, executable offerings.
• You are highly skilled in bread baking, artisan breads, dessert plating, and food presentation that creates a memorable customer experience.
• You understand food quality, portion control, and food cost management, allowing you to protect both standards and margins.
• You hold a Culinary Arts degree or have equivalent professional culinary training and hands on experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience producing wedding cakes, fondant details, custom desserts, and event focused pastry presentations is highly valued.
• Knowledge of vegan baking or plant based dessert development will help expand creative menu possibilities.
• Knowledge of gluten free/celiac safe baking.
• Leadership experience mentoring kitchen team members and maintaining organized production workflows is a plus.

Compensation and Work Setting:

• This in person role is based in Baltimore, MD 21202 and offers an hourly pay range of $20 to $30 per hour , based on experience and qualifications.
