Research Business Operations, Director

In this role you drive the strategic development and execution of SRAlab's research commercialization, industry partnerships, sponsored trials, and technology licensing. You will partner with senior leadership to set priorities, evaluate opportunities, and oversee enterprise-wide execution across clinical, research, and business functions. You'll lead negotiations, budgeting, and governance for complex collaborations, ensuring financial viability and impact. • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development and partnership strategy for research commercialization, industry-sponsored research, and technology development
• Plan and initiate the portfolio of industry-sponsored clinical trials and research collaborations, including prioritization, timelines, budgeting, site coordination, regulatory requirements, risk management, and performance tracking
• Lead business and financial negotiations for clinical trial agreements and research collaboration agreements with legal and administration partners, and develop sound budgets
• Develop and oversee financial strategies, budgets, forecasts, pricing frameworks, and negotiation parameters for sponsored research and commercialization initiatives
• Establish cross-functional resource and staffing plans with shared leadership to support scalable growth of trials and collaborations
• Develop and oversee strategic relationships with partner institutions to access capabilities and resources
• Lead enterprise-wide governance processes, coordinating across legal, marketing, research, fundraising, clinical, and operations
• Represent SRAlab in high-level discussions with pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, digital health, and academic partners; cultivate executive relationships and align on opportunities
• Establish and monitor portfolio-level performance metrics, dashboards, forecasts, and risk indicators; report results and actions to leadership
• Advise leadership on market dynamics, partnership models, commercialization pathways, and investment priorities
• Perform additional duties in the best interest of SRAlab

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline; MBA preferred but not required
• 7+ years in research business operations, business development, strategic partnerships, commercialization, or sponsored research in healthcare, biotech, pharma, medical device, digital health, or academic medical center; 10+ years preferred
• Strong leadership in structuring and negotiating complex collaborative agreements and financial terms with industry sponsors
• Solid understanding of product-focused commercial R&D, technology transfer, IP, clinical development, and commercialization processes
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and build durable executive relationships
• Excellent executive communication, negotiation, judgment, and conflict-management skills
• Ability to set strategy, operating discipline, metrics, and decision frameworks in a fast, innovative environment
