Director, Business Development

In this role you drive growth for Battelle's Environment & Infrastructure BU within the DoW. You will lead the BD lifecycle and client engagement to expand critical infrastructure, environment, and energy-related work. You'll manage a multi-billion-dollar pipeline, shape strategy with DoW and market insights, and foster cross-functional collaboration to win opportunities. This is a strategic, impact-focused leadership role at the intersection of government programs and advanced solutions.

• Develop and manage a multi-billion-dollar pipeline with metrics for awards, submits, and qualified opportunities; optimize win probability and pipeline quality.
• Cultivate and maintain influential government relationships, focusing on DoW accounts, with structured account mapping and targeted conversations.
• Partner with E&I BU on market relevance, voice-of-customer, and development of new/adjacent markets; monitor competitive movements.
• Drive excellence in BD processes and CRM usage; leverage Power BI to quantitatively track pipeline progress.

• Bachelor's degree minimum; Master's preferred
• 10+ years of relevant experience winning DoW opportunities
• Existing government client network with ability to leverage for new business
• Proven leadership of BD teams and BU partners
• Experience with government procurement procedures and timelines
• Track record of winning opportunities with government clients
• Competitor knowledge in E&I market sector
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required
