Finance Lead

In this Finance Lead role, you will own the financial management of Wood's Onshore Projects division in Houston, driving month-end close, project accounting, forecasting, margin analysis, revenue recognition and reporting. You'll partner with Project Controls, PMs, leadership and auditors to ensure accurate, controlled financial information and sound project accounting. This position offers leadership of a small accounting team and close collaboration across cross-functional partners in a dynamic energy environment. You will play a key part in shaping project profitability and financial controls to support the division's growth and the company's low-carbon energy goals.

• Lead month-end close and prepare month-end financial packages
• Oversee project accounting, cost tracking and accruals to protect margins
• Perform margin analysis and variance reporting (cost rate, sell rate, mix)
• Manage revenue recognition and billing milestones for projects
• Coordinate with Project Controls, PMs, and auditors on financial controls and reporting
• Provide forecasting and budgets for service lines and for the division
• Liaise with auditors and lead audit processes
• Present financial information to project stakeholders and management
• Support project kick-off and monthly review meetings with project teams
• Ensure contract terms and approvals are reflected in accounting

• Bachelor in Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field; CA required; CPA/CMA asset
• Minimum 7 years' experience in full-cycle accounting, preferably in engineering consultancy or oil & gas projects
• Experience with ERP systems, including Oracle and EPM/FCC
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot, VLOOKUP)
• Strong knowledge of project accounting, revenue recognition, cost accounting, financial reporting
• Excellent time-management for month-end deadlines
• Strong written and verbal English communication; ability to produce monthly reports
• Ability to explain project accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders
• Independent yet collaborative with cross-functional teams in a professional setting
