Director, Business Systems and Technology

In this role you lead the CSS business systems and technology portfolio to enable MIT's financial, operational, and administrative functions. You'll shape enterprise systems strategy, governance, and multi-year roadmaps, overseeing applications, integrations, and modernization efforts. You drive vendor management, IT services oversight, and continuous improvement to reduce risk and boost operational performance. This position offers a strategic leadership role in a complex, asset-intensive environment with a strong transformation focus.

• Define and execute enterprise systems strategy and multi-year roadmaps
• Oversee selection, implementation, enhancement, support, and retirement of business applications
• Manage software vendors, contracts, and technology investments
• Lead application development, system integration, and modernization initiatives
• Provide strategic oversight of CSS IT services and ensure alignment with organizational needs
• Governance and program management for ERP transformation and related initiatives
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across cross-functional teams
• Ensure technology enables financial, operational, and administrative processes and performance

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, business, technology, computer science, or related field
• at least ten years of progressive experience in business systems, enterprise applications, IT leadership, or technology management in complex environments
• experience defining and executing enterprise systems strategy and roadmaps, including large-scale implementations
• experience managing a diverse portfolio of enterprise, commercial, and custom-developed applications
• experience evaluating technology solutions, vendor negotiation, and overseeing technology investments
• ability to lead managers and influence senior stakeholders
• understanding of enterprise applications, system integration, and IT service delivery
• strong communication and leadership skills; ability to translate business needs into technology solutions
