CMBS / Structured Finance Attorney (NY / Chicago)

KBRA seeks an experienced structured finance attorney to support the CMBS new issuance ratings team. You will work across conduit, single-asset/single borrower, CRE CLO, data center, SFR and other CMBS transactions, reviewing documents and coordinating with analysts and external counsel. You'll contribute to rating committees and KBRA's market-leading rating reports, shaping credit risk analysis. The role can be based in New York or Chicago and offers a hybrid schedule and strong development opportunities.

• Review offering and transaction documents and articulate legal or credit concerns
• Identify and evaluate potential credit impact of transaction and loan structures
• Coordinate with rating analysts on legal issues
• Liaise with external legal counsel
• Participate in rating committees
• Support analytical team with preparation of rating and research reports
• Assist CMBS Surveillance with Rating Agency Confirmation (RAC) requests

• Five or more years of CMBS or commercial real estate finance experience
• JD and Bar admission in the United States
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent research, analytical and organizational skills
