Business Consultant

In this role, you will support the Financial Reporting function by coordinating month-end close, consolidations, and financial statement preparation. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders and auditors to ensure accurate reporting and compliant filings. You'll research GAAP requirements, advise on technical accounting matters, and help strengthen internal controls under Sarbanes-Oxley. This position offers exposure to SEC reporting processes and cross-functional collaboration within a public company context.

• Execute month-end close for selected accounts, including journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany eliminations, GL research, variance analysis, and internal controls.
• Support month-end consolidation and preparation of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
• Assist in preparing and reviewing employee benefit filings (health, welfare, pension, retirement plans).
• Prepare quarterly audit requests and regulatory filings; assist with Form 10-K and Form 10-Q as needed.
• Research new GAAP requirements and present implementation recommendations to management.
• Consult with divisions on judgmental or unusual accounting matters.
• Ensure documentation and performance of internal controls over financial reporting per Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Collaborate with external and internal auditors to run an efficient audit process.
• Develop strategic and tactical plans to foster a safety-conscious workplace.

• Undergraduate degree
• 2+ years relevant accounting experience
• Public accounting at Big 4 or top-tier firm and/or corporate financial reporting in a public company preferred
• Licensed CPA preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Team-oriented, detail-focused, deadline-driven, able to manage multiple projects
