Finance & Accounting Specialist

In this role you will support core accounting operations for a hospitality organization in Torrance, contributing to accurate payables, receivables, reconciliations, and reporting. You will work closely with internal teams and external vendors, including Japanese communication when needed, to ensure timely financial processes. The position emphasizes independent work, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration to sustain reliable financial records. This long-term contract offers a hands-on opportunity to influence monthly closes and intercompany documentation within a team that values accuracy and timely insight.

• Manage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare payment entries for time-sensitive disbursements in the accounting system
• Record general ledger activity for employee expenses, corporate card usage, and vendor invoices
• Set up vendor profiles, process cash receipts, and perform bank reconciliations
• Support monthly close with reconciliations and aging reports
• Compile quarterly accounting documentation including intercompany support schedules
• Respond to shared mailbox inquiries on payment status and assist vendors and operations teams
• Handle administrative finance tasks such as scanning documents, depositing checks, processing card payments, and cost data downloads
• Assist with workflow coordination, troubleshoot routine issues, and support process improvements and special assignments

• bilingual in English and Japanese; ability to communicate with vendors in Japanese when needed
