Work Environment

This position allows you to work remotely, providing flexibility while ensuring you remain connected to a dynamic team of mental health professionals. Your role will involve collaborating virtually with psychiatrists and other key stakeholders to create a unified approach to patient care. While adhering to a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, occasional evening shifts may be required depending on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate the psychological well-being of clients, which includes understanding their history, symptoms, and care aspirations.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that are informed by evidence-based practices, designed to meet the specific needs and diagnoses of each individual.
• Utilize diverse therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and other methods to address emotional concerns and foster personal growth.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that promote coping strategies, emotional expression, and resilience among clients.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare providers to ensure an integrated approach to mental health care.
• Provide crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, developing strategies for immediate care.
• Educate clients and their families about mental health issues, treatment options, and community resources to empower them during the recovery process.
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation in compliance with all legal and ethical standards, ensuring the integrity of client information.
• Engage in ongoing professional development by participating in case conferences, team meetings, and relevant training sessions.
• Stay current with advancements in mental health therapy to continually enhance the provision of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Counselor, your primary focus will be on a diverse clientele, including adults, adolescents, and families facing various mental health issues. You will work specifically with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mood disorders. Understanding their unique challenges will be essential in developing effective treatment strategies that promote stability and personal growth.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW-C, LCPC, or LCMFT in the state of Maryland is essential.
• Demonstrable proficiency in conducting mental health assessments, making accurate diagnoses, and formulating treatment plans.
• Strong skills in delivering therapy using evidence-based modalities, with a focus on trauma-informed care.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, crucial for establishing therapeutic relationships with clients.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and client management.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries while working within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, ideally in an outpatient or community health setting.
• Proven experience using a variety of therapeutic techniques to address patients' emotional and psychological needs.
• Experience with crisis intervention and management in high-pressure situations.
• Knowledge of community resources and the ability to connect clients with necessary support systems.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, our benefits package includes:
