Energy and Utilities Senior Principal - Business Strategy

As Senior Utilities Principal, you bridge advanced utilities technology with strategic business goals to deliver value for Verizon's MEU practice within VBG. You drive and shape the innovation strategy for enterprise utility clients, engaging C-suite and OT leaders to advance grid modernization, private networks, and digital transformation. You influence go-to-market approaches, ecosystem partnerships, and cross-functional delivery to strengthen Verizon's leadership in the utilities sector. • Drive strategic growth for Global Enterprise and Public Sector utilities customers, focusing on grid modernization, Private 5G, Field Area Networks, and IoT.
• Initiate and guide opportunities for run-rate and advanced solutions (Private 5G, NaaS, SD-WAN, SASE) with Client Partners and Regional Sales Leaders.
• Support large utility opportunities and pipeline growth across DOE/IRA/IIJA-funded programs and connected asset deployments.
• Develop and deliver outcome-based solution frameworks showcasing mission-critical connectivity to utility clients.
• Lead industry engagement and thought leadership at utilities forums and events; represent Verizon in marketing and knowledge-sharing activities.
• Share utilities expertise across client engagements, ecosystem relationships, and internal teams to shape go-to-market strategy.
• Contribute to new product development by identifying repeatable grid modernization and connected asset solutions.

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of equivalent experience
• 8+ years of relevant utility/energy tech experience or OT/IoT solutions background
• Willingness to travel
• Deep practical knowledge of U.S. utilities market, with emphasis on grid modernization, AMI, DER management, and field networks
• Experience aligning Private 5G, NaaS, and SD-WAN to utility needs
• Knowledge of utility cybersecurity and OT/IT security standards (NERC-CIP)
• Familiarity with DOE Grid Resilience Grants, IRA/IIJA funding programs, and regulatory considerations
