Print Production Supervisor

Job Title: Print Production Supervisor. About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled, proactive Print Production Supervisor to lead our pressroom operations. In this role, you will oversee an in-plant printing operation that directly supports our primary manufacturing facility. We specialize in high-quality, high-volume production ranging from short to long runs.

Key Responsibilities: Pressroom Leadership & Supervision

• Supervise and manage daily operations and personnel across the pressroom, ink room, plating, and cutting departments.
• Lead, train, and mentor staff to promote quality workmanship, safety, and team productivity.
• Maintain direct accountability for pressroom efficiency, throughput, and workflow optimization.

Technical Management & Quality Control

• Enforce adherence to established color standards and quality control protocols.
• Apply expertise in color management using spectrophotometry (Lab color).
• Partner with the Prepress department to regularly fingerprint and calibrate all presses for consistent color output.
• Research, test, and qualify new materials, inks, and production processes.

Press Operations & Maintenance

• Utilize deep technical knowledge of Heidelberg 6-Color: UV 74 and HP 3500 digital printing equipment to troubleshoot press print issues and resolve operational challenges quickly.
• Oversee total equipment maintenance to keep all machinery operating in peak condition.
• Monitor, schedule, and ensure completion of all prescribed maintenance, repairs, and parts coordination.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for technical vendor communication and support.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Prior supervisor/management experience in a sheet-fed printing plant environment.
• Press & Digital Expertise: Thorough hands-on knowledge and troubleshooting capabilities for Heidelberg 6-Color: UV 74, Heidelberg 5-Color: XL75 UV, HP 3500 digital presses.
• Technical Skills: Expertise in color management using spectrophotometry (Lab color) and press calibration/fingerprinting.
• Specialized Experience (Plus): Prior experience working with plastic substrates and UV printing processes is highly desired.
• Leadership: Strong communication skills, proven team leadership, and the ability to manage a heavy production schedule.
