Encompass Health seeks an Occupational Therapist to deliver evidence-based rehabilitative care in our inpatient rehabilitation hospital. In this role, you will assess functional abilities, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide therapeutic interventions to maximize independence in daily activities. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and support safe discharge planning. Evaluate patients’ functional status, cognitive abilities, and home environment to determine therapy needs. Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based occupational therapy treatment plans. Provide therapeutic interventions to improve ADLs, mobility, strength, and cognitive-perceptual skills. Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques, equipment use, and home safety. Document evaluations, goals, and progress notes accurately in the EMR system. Collaborate with physicians, nursing, PT, SLP, and case management on coordinated care plans. Participate in discharge planning, recommending equipment and home modifications. Adhere to regulatory, safety, and infection control standards within the rehab setting. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices. Provide mentorship and support to OTAs and therapy students as appropriate.
