Ombudsman Educational Services, a ChanceLight Education brand, seeks a Special Education Teacher to support middle and high school students in an alternative learning environment. You will deliver individualized, standards-based instruction, implement IEPs, and adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning and behavioral needs. Responsibilities include managing a small caseload, monitoring progress, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with general educators, school districts, and families. You will help create a safe, structured, and supportive classroom that promotes academic, social, and behavioral growth for at-risk and nontraditional learners. Provide individualized and small-group instruction to special education students in an alternative education setting Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with school districts and families Adapt and differentiate curriculum to meet diverse academic and behavioral needs Use data to track student progress and adjust instruction and interventions Implement effective behavior management strategies to support a safe, structured environment Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and compliance with special education regulations Collaborate with general educators, counselors, and external partners to support student success Communicate regularly with families and district staff regarding student progress and goals Support students in credit recovery and transition planning for graduation or return to home schools Contribute to a student-centered, mission-driven culture focused on helping at-risk learners succeed Special education instruction IEP development and implementation Behavior management Progress monitoring and data collection Differentiated instruction Classroom management Collaboration with school districts and teams Student assessment Documentation and reporting Assistive technology familiarity Valid Special Education teaching license (state-specific) Endorsement in Special Education or Exceptional Student Education Certification in behavior management or crisis intervention (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
