Ombudsman Educational Services is seeking on-call Substitute Teachers to support alternative education programs for middle and high school students. In this role, you deliver standards-based lessons, maintain a safe and structured classroom, and follow individualized learning plans to help at-risk and nontraditional students stay on track for graduation. You will implement behavior support strategies, manage attendance and classroom records, and collaborate with site staff and district partners to ensure continuity of instruction in a supportive, student-centered environment. Deliver standards-based lessons using provided plans or curriculum Supervise and manage classrooms for middle and high school students Support at-risk and nontraditional students in credit-bearing coursework Implement behavior management and classroom management strategies Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment Follow individualized learning plans and accommodations as directed Record attendance, participation, and basic academic progress Collaborate with site staff and school district partners as needed Communicate classroom updates and concerns to program leadership Uphold school and district policies, procedures, and expectations Classroom management Lesson delivery and instruction Student supervision Behavior management techniques Special education accommodations familiarity Recordkeeping and documentation Basic computer and educational technology use Communication with students and staff Differentiated instruction strategies Crisis de-escalation basics Valid state teaching certificate or substitute teaching license (as required by state/district) Background check and fingerprint clearance Training in classroom management and behavior support preferred Experience with at-risk or nontraditional students preferred CPR/First Aid certification preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
