Ombudsman Educational Services, a ChanceLight Education brand, seeks an Alternative Education Teacher to support middle and high school students who have dropped out, are at risk, or need a nontraditional setting. In this role, you will provide personalized, standards-aligned, credit-bearing instruction in a small, structured classroom. You will develop individualized learning plans, use data to track progress, and apply consistent behavior supports to create a safe, supportive environment. You will collaborate closely with partner school districts, families, and colleagues to help students re-engage, earn credits, and progress toward graduation while building academic, social, and self-advocacy skills. Deliver standards-based instruction to small groups of middle and high school students in an alternative setting. Develop and implement individualized learning plans focused on credit recovery and graduation goals. Use data and assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction. Implement consistent classroom and behavior management strategies to maintain a safe, structured environment. Collaborate with school district partners, families, and support staff on student goals and progress. Integrate educational technology and varied instructional strategies to engage diverse learners. Document attendance, grades, behavior incidents, and progress in a timely and accurate manner. Support students’ social-emotional development and advocacy skills in a respectful, student-centered manner.
