Horace Mann is seeking an Insurance Agent to serve K–12 educators and school employees. In this role, you will provide personalized auto, home, life, supplemental insurance and retirement solutions, guiding clients through coverage options and financial protection strategies. You will prospect and build relationships with educators, conduct needs analyses, present proposals, and manage policy servicing and renewals. The position offers training, licensing support, and growth opportunities within a mission-driven, education-focused culture that values integrity, customer focus, and community impact. Prospect and build relationships with K–12 educators and school employees Conduct needs analyses to identify appropriate insurance and retirement solutions Present and explain auto, home, life, supplemental insurance and retirement products Prepare quotes, proposals, and applications while ensuring regulatory compliance Manage policy servicing, renewals, and coverage changes Maintain accurate client records in CRM and policy systems Collaborate with internal teams to resolve client issues and claims questions Achieve sales, retention, and customer satisfaction targets Participate in school and community events to promote Horace Mann solutions Stay current on product features, industry trends, and regulatory requirements Insurance product knowledge (auto, home, life, supplemental) Retirement and annuity product knowledge Sales and prospecting Customer relationship management (CRM) Needs-based financial analysis Regulatory and compliance understanding Presentation and communication Negotiation and closing skills Policy servicing and account management Data entry and documentation accuracy Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k State insurance producer licenses (Property & Casualty, Life & Health, as applicable) FINRA registrations (e.g., Series 6/63 or equivalent) if required for retirement products Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Background check and regulatory screening as required by state and company5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
