Encompass Health seeks a HIMS Supervisor to lead health information management operations in our inpatient rehabilitation hospital. In this role, you will oversee daily HIM workflows, supervise and develop staff, and ensure accurate, complete, and timely medical records that support exceptional patient care. You will monitor HIPAA and Joint Commission compliance, coordinate chart analysis and release of information, and partner with clinical leaders to improve documentation quality. Oversee daily health information management (HIM) operations in the rehabilitation hospital. Supervise, schedule, and mentor HIM staff, supporting a collaborative, patient-focused culture. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely processing of electronic and paper medical records. Monitor compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission, and organizational documentation standards. Coordinate chart analysis, record abstraction, and release of information processes. Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to support documentation quality and data integrity. Develop, implement, and update HIM policies, procedures, and workflows for efficiency and quality. Prepare and analyze HIM reports and metrics to drive performance improvement. Support coding, billing, and reimbursement processes through accurate documentation practices. Participate in staff training, audits, and readiness activities for regulatory and accreditation surveys.
