As a 2nd Shift Alarm Dispatcher, you monitor security alarm signals and act as a link between customers and local police, fire, or emergency services. You answer and prioritize incoming alarms and calls, make outbound calls to customers and agencies, and accurately document all actions taken. You work from a monitoring center on a set 2nd-shift weekend schedule, may cover extra hours during storms, and support safety by following clear procedures and using computer-based alarm and call systems. Monitor incoming alarm signals and requests, identifying priority and appropriate response actions. Answer inbound calls and place outbound calls to customers, emergency contacts, and public safety agencies. Document all incidents, signals, and actions taken with clear and accurate account notes. Follow established emergency, safety, and escalation procedures when dispatching police, fire, or medical services. Work additional or extended hours as needed to cover open shifts or weather-related demand. Use computer systems, alarm monitoring software, and Microsoft Office tools during dispatch activities. Support a positive customer experience by communicating clearly, calmly, and professionally. Collaborate with teammates and supervisors to ensure continuous monitoring center coverage.
