City Year AmeriCorps Members serve full-time in public schools to support student success and strengthen school communities. As part of a diverse team, you’ll provide academic tutoring, mentoring, and classroom support, helping students build skills in math, literacy, and social-emotional learning. You’ll track data to guide interventions, collaborate with teachers, and assist with attendance and after-school programs. City Year offers robust training, professional development, and a collaborative, inclusive culture focused on social justice, leadership, and personal growth. Provide individualized and small-group academic support to students in core subjects Build positive, mentoring relationships that foster students’ social-emotional growth Support classroom teachers with learning activities, behavior management, and engagement strategies Monitor student progress, track data, and adjust support based on identified needs Help lead attendance initiatives, enrichment activities, and after-school programs Collaborate with a diverse City Year team and school staff to plan and deliver interventions Communicate with families and caregivers, as appropriate, to support student success Participate fully in City Year trainings, professional development, and reflection sessions Tutoring and academic support (literacy and/or math) Classroom management support Youth mentoring and relationship building Data tracking and progress monitoring Small-group facilitation Behavioral intervention techniques (e.g., de-escalation) Basic educational technology and productivity tools Written and verbal communication Community outreach and family engagement support Time management and organization Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance AmeriCorps eligibility (U.S. citizen or legal resident) Ability to pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and school district Commitment to full-time service term (typically 10–11 months)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
