City Year AmeriCorps Members serve full-time in public schools, helping students build the skills and mindsets to succeed. As part of a diverse team, you’ll provide in-class and small-group academic support, encourage consistent attendance, and promote positive behavior. You’ll collaborate with teachers, school staff, and peers to create an inclusive, engaging learning environment. City Year offers robust training, coaching, and leadership development focused on social justice, youth development, and professional growth, giving you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while building your career. Provide daily in-class and small-group academic support to students. Build positive, consistent relationships with students to promote engagement and attendance. Support social-emotional learning and behavior management in partnership with teachers. Track and report student progress using data and established tools. Collaborate with a diverse team of AmeriCorps members and school staff. Participate in ongoing training, reflection, and leadership development sessions. Assist with school-wide events, family engagement, and community service projects. Model City Year’s values of equity, inclusivity, and service. Communicate regularly with supervisors on progress, challenges, and student needs. Uphold AmeriCorps service requirements and City Year policies.
