BMO Financial seeks a Senior Credit Officer, Director to lead complex credit decisions across commercial and corporate portfolios. You will evaluate credit risk, structure transactions, approve lending within delegated authority, and provide guidance on policy, underwriting standards, and portfolio strategy. Partner with relationship managers to support growth while protecting asset quality. Mentor junior underwriters, contribute to credit committee discussions, and ensure regulatory and risk governance compliance in a collaborative, customer-focused environment. Lead evaluation and approval of complex commercial and corporate credit transactions within delegated authority. Analyze borrower financials, cash flow, collateral, and industry risk to determine creditworthiness. Structure loan terms, covenants, and collateral packages that balance risk and relationship objectives. Provide expert guidance on credit policy, underwriting standards, and risk appetite to relationship teams. Contribute to credit committee presentations and decisions on larger or higher-risk exposures. Monitor portfolio performance, risk trends, and concentrations; recommend risk mitigation actions. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal risk governance frameworks. Mentor and develop junior underwriters and credit analysts through coaching and review. Collaborate with business leaders to support growth while maintaining asset quality. Participate in periodic reviews, audits, and stress testing of assigned credit portfolios.
