As a City Year AmeriCorps Member, you will serve full-time in a public school, helping students thrive academically and socially. Working on a diverse team, you’ll provide in-class academic support, small-group tutoring, and mentoring to students in English, math, and key social-emotional skills. You will assist teachers with classroom management, engage students in enrichment and after-school programming, and track student progress using data. City Year offers robust training, professional development, and leadership opportunities in a collaborative, inclusive environment committed to educational equity and social justice. Provide in-class academic support in English and math to help students stay on track to grade-level standards. Offer individual and small-group tutoring, mentoring, and social-emotional skill building. Support classroom teachers with behavior management, engagement strategies, and routine classroom tasks. Facilitate or assist with after-school programs, enrichment activities, and school events. Track student progress and attendance data, reporting results to City Year and school leaders. Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team to plan interventions and share best practices. Participate in ongoing professional development, training, and leadership opportunities. Communicate regularly with staff, peers, and families to support student success. Model City Year values of equity, inclusion, and social justice in daily service. Complete all AmeriCorps and City Year documentation and compliance requirements.
