City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core academic subjects Mentor students to support social-emotional and behavioral growth Collaborate with teachers to track student progress and implement interventions Support classroom activities and school-wide initiatives Assist with after-school programs and enrichment activities Collect and maintain student data to inform support strategies Participate in ongoing City Year and AmeriCorps trainings and reflections Engage families and community partners when appropriate Model inclusive, culturally responsive, and professional behavior Contribute to team meetings and a collaborative service environment Tutoring in math and literacy Classroom support and management Youth mentoring and relationship building Data tracking and basic progress monitoring Communication (written and verbal) Collaboration and teamwork Time management and organization Cultural competence and DEI awareness Basic conflict resolution Facilitation of small groups and activities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or legal permanent resident Successfully pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and local districts Meet AmeriCorps eligibility and commitment requirements5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
