City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support and small-group tutoring in core subjects to help students meet academic goals Mentor students to build social-emotional skills, such as confidence, perseverance, and teamwork Collaborate with teachers and school staff to identify student needs and coordinate support Lead or assist with afterschool programs, enrichment activities, and school-wide events Track student performance and attendance data to monitor progress and inform interventions Build positive, consistent relationships with students to encourage engagement and success Contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative team culture focused on social justice and equity Participate in regular City Year training, coaching, and professional development sessions Communicate with families and caregivers, as appropriate, to support student growth Model professional behavior and uphold City Year and school expectations and policies Youth mentoring Classroom support Small-group instruction Behavior management Basic data tracking and documentation Collaboration with educators and teams Communication (verbal and written) Basic tutoring in math and literacy Time management and organization Cultural competence and relationship-building Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (must meet AmeriCorps national service requirements) Ability to pass background and reference checks Proof of high school diploma or equivalent or higher degree U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident (as required by AmeriCorps)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
