City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in core subjects to assigned students Support classroom teachers with instructional activities and behavior management Track and report student progress using established tools and data systems Lead or assist with after-school programs, enrichment activities, and clubs Build positive, supportive relationships with students to encourage engagement Collaborate with a diverse team of AmeriCorps members and school staff Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Support school-wide events and initiatives that promote a positive school climate Communicate regularly with site staff about student needs and progress Model inclusive, equity-focused practices aligned with City Year’s values Tutoring and academic support Classroom support and management Youth mentoring and relationship-building Basic data entry and progress tracking Communication (written and verbal) Team collaboration Time management and organization Cultural competency and inclusivity Facilitation of small groups Basic computer skills (e.g., Google Suite, email) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks required for school-based service Commitment to a full-time 11-month service term Demonstrated interest in youth development or education5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
