City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor and Mentor to support students’ academic and personal growth in partner public schools. In this role, you’ll provide in-class support, small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, and coach students in study skills and goal setting. You’ll build positive, mentoring relationships, track student progress, and collaborate closely with teachers and school staff. Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core academic subjects Support classroom instruction alongside teachers to reinforce key concepts Build positive, mentoring relationships that encourage student engagement Coach students in study skills, organization, and goal setting Monitor and document student progress and attendance Communicate regularly with teachers and school staff about student needs Help facilitate enrichment, after-school, or intervention programs Model inclusive, respectful behavior aligned with City Year’s values Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and team meetings Support school-wide events and initiatives that promote student success Academic tutoring in core subjects (math, ELA, or science) Classroom support and behavior management Student progress monitoring and data entry Lesson and activity preparation Youth mentoring and relationship building Communication with teachers and school staff Organization and time management Basic computer and educational technology skills Bilingual or multilingual communication (preferred) Cultural competency and working with diverse communities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k AmeriCorps eligibility (US citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Background check clearance for work with youth Prior tutoring, mentoring, or classroom support experience preferred Training in youth development or education (preferred) Spanish or other second language proficiency (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
