City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small-group academic tutoring to students during and after school Support teachers in the classroom with lesson implementation and classroom management Monitor and encourage student attendance, participation, and engagement Build positive, consistent relationships with students to support their social-emotional development Assist with planning and leading school-wide events, activities, and initiatives Track student progress and document intervention activities and outcomes Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team and school staff to support whole-school goals Communicate regularly with supervisors about student progress and service activities Uphold City Year and AmeriCorps policies, professionalism, and service standards Tutoring and academic support Classroom support and management assistance Youth mentoring and relationship-building Basic data tracking and documentation Communication (verbal and written) Team collaboration Time management and reliability Cultural competency and sensitivity Conflict de-escalation basics Facilitation of group activities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Must be U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident Must have completed H.S.
