City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class and small-group academic support in core subjects Offer social-emotional coaching and mentorship to students Assist teachers with classroom management and learning activities Track and report student progress and participation data Support and lead enrichment and after-school programs Build positive relationships with students, teachers, and school staff Participate in City Year training, coaching, and professional development sessions Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team to plan and deliver school-based initiatives Engage families and community partners in student support efforts Uphold AmeriCorps and City Year service standards and policies Youth mentorship and engagement Tutoring and academic support (reading, writing, math) Classroom support and basic classroom management Data tracking and basic progress monitoring Communication (verbal and written) Teamwork and collaboration in diverse groups Organization and time management Conflict resolution and de-escalation basics Cultural competence and sensitivity Facilitation of group activities or workshops Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident) Ability to pass background and reference checks required for school-based service Completion of City Year pre-service training program Commitment to a full-time AmeriCorps service term5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
