City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class academic support to students in partnership with teachers Offer one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects Build positive relationships and serve as a mentor to students Support students’ social-emotional skill development and engagement Track and document student progress and attendance data Assist with after-school programs and enrichment activities Collaborate closely with a diverse AmeriCorps team and school staff Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Engage in community service projects and school-wide events Uphold City Year and AmeriCorps service standards and policies Classroom support Tutoring in core subjects (Math, ELA) Youth mentoring Behavior management Data tracking and documentation Basic educational technology tools Communication (written and verbal) Team collaboration Time management and organization Cultural competence and diversity awareness Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Must be at least 18 years old U.S. citizen, national, or legal permanent resident (AmeriCorps requirement) Successful completion of background check Ability to commit to full-time AmeriCorps service term Experience working with youth (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
