City Year seeks an Academic Tutor and Mentor to support K–12 students in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you’ll provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, reinforce classroom instruction, and track student progress. You’ll build strong, positive relationships, mentor students on social-emotional skills, and collaborate closely with teachers and teammates. Provide one-on-one and small-group academic tutoring in core subjects (e.g., math, reading, writing) Support classroom instruction and reinforce lesson objectives under teacher guidance Build positive, mentoring relationships that promote students’ social-emotional growth Monitor and document student progress, attendance, and engagement data Communicate regularly with teachers and staff about student needs and progress Facilitate or assist with enrichment, homework help, and after-school programs Model positive behavior, school engagement, and a growth mindset for students Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Collaborate with a diverse team to support school-wide initiatives and events Uphold City Year’s values of service, inclusion, and social justice Tutoring in math Tutoring in reading and writing Classroom support Student progress monitoring and documentation Basic data entry and reporting Behavior management support Lesson reinforcement and review Youth mentoring and relationship-building Communication with educators and staff Time management and organization Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Prior tutoring or mentoring experience (preferred) Coursework in education, child development, or related field (preferred) Background check eligibility AmeriCorps eligibility (if applicable) CPR/First Aid certification (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
