City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to teachers and students during core subjects Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring to reinforce key concepts Mentor students to build social-emotional skills and positive habits Track student progress and assist with basic data entry and reporting Support school-wide initiatives, events, and positive school climate activities Collaborate with teammates, school staff, and supervisors to align on student support plans Participate in City Year-led training, reflection, and leadership development sessions Communicate regularly with students’ teachers about goals and progress Classroom support Tutoring and academic support Youth mentorship Basic data tracking and reporting Communication (written and verbal) Team collaboration Time management Conflict resolution Cultural humility and DEI awareness Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Google Suite, email) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident Successfully pass background checks Meet AmeriCorps eligibility requirements Experience working or volunteering with youth preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
