City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects to assigned students Support teachers in the classroom through behavior management and academic assistance Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to encourage engagement and attendance Track and report student progress and participation using established tools and systems Help design and facilitate after-school programs, enrichment, or homework support Collaborate with school staff and fellow AmeriCorps members to plan student interventions Promote an inclusive, positive school climate aligned with City Year values Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Engage families and community partners as appropriate to support student success Uphold AmeriCorps and City Year service standards, policies, and performance expectations Academic tutoring (math and ELA) Classroom support and management Data entry and student progress tracking Lesson and activity planning Youth mentoring and relationship-building Behavioral intervention strategies Communication and presentation skills Team collaboration Time management and organization Basic computer literacy (e.g., Google Workspace, MS Office) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps Ability to pass background checks required for working in schools U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident (typical AmeriCorps requirement)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
