City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to teachers and students in core subjects Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring in math and literacy Build positive, mentor-like relationships with students Support students’ social-emotional learning and behavior routines Assist with classroom management and create an engaging learning environment Track and document student progress and attendance Help plan and lead after-school or enrichment programs Communicate with teachers, staff, and families about student needs Participate in ongoing City Year and AmeriCorps training and development Model City Year’s values of equity, service, and collaboration Classroom support Tutoring (math and literacy) Youth mentoring Behavior management Data tracking and documentation Communication with students, staff, and families Team collaboration Time management and reliability Basic computer and office software skills Cultural competence and sensitivity Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Must be at least 18 years old Must have U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status (for AmeriCorps eligibility) Successful background check Ability to commit to full-time AmeriCorps service term Experience working with youth (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
