City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class academic support to students in partnership with teachers Tutor students in small groups or one-on-one to reinforce key concepts Monitor and track student attendance, engagement, and progress Support classroom routines, school culture, and behavior expectations Help plan and lead after-school programs and enrichment activities Communicate regularly with school staff about student needs and progress Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Engage families and community partners as appropriate to support students Student support planning Tutoring in math and English Classroom management support Data entry and progress tracking Basic behavior management Communication with teachers Workshop and event facilitation Time management Conflict resolution Basic computer skills (Google/Microsoft) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including citizenship or legal residency requirements) Ability to pass required background checks Commitment to a full-time AmeriCorps service term Experience with youth, tutoring, mentoring, or community service preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
