City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to students in partnership with teachers Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects Support students’ social-emotional skill development and engagement Monitor attendance and help implement strategies to improve it Lead or assist with after-school and enrichment programs Build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff Track and document student progress and intervention activities Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team to meet school goals Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and reflection sessions Contribute to an inclusive, respectful, and equity-focused school climate Classroom support Tutoring in math and reading Youth mentoring Behavior management Data entry and progress tracking Basic technology skills (e.g., Google Suite, email) Written and verbal communication Team collaboration Time management and organization Cultural competence and equity-focused practice Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member Ability to pass background check required for work in schools Experience working or volunteering with youth preferred Basic tutoring or mentoring experience preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
