City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide small-group and one-on-one academic support in core subjects during and after school Support teachers with classroom management, engagement, and positive learning environments Build relationships with students to promote social-emotional learning and school attendance Track and report student progress using data tools and school systems Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team to plan and deliver school-wide initiatives Support after-school programs, enrichment activities, and family engagement events Model inclusive, equity-focused practices aligned with City Year’s values Communicate regularly with teachers and school staff about student needs and progress Contribute to a positive, collaborative service culture focused on student success Tutoring and academic support Classroom management support Youth mentoring Data entry and progress tracking Basic MS Office/Google Workspace Communication (written and verbal) Collaboration and teamwork Time management Conflict de-escalation techniques Basic behavior intervention strategies Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k AmeriCorps eligibility (U.S. citizen or legal resident) Ability to pass background check TB test (as required by school district) Proof of COVID-19 and/or other vaccinations if required by site5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
