City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to teachers through small-group work and individual student assistance Deliver targeted academic tutoring in subjects like English and math Mentor students to build social-emotional skills, attendance, and positive behavior Track and document student progress and participation Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and City Year teammates to plan interventions Lead or support after-school programs and school-wide initiatives Engage families and community partners when appropriate Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Support school climate through positive relationship-building and role modeling Small-group academic tutoring Classroom support and behavior management Student mentoring and relationship-building Data tracking and basic progress monitoring Youth development practices Communication with teachers and school staff Basic lesson or activity facilitation Time management and organization Cultural competency and working with diverse communities Team collaboration Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident (AmeriCorps eligibility) Must pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and school district Strong interest in youth development, education, or social services5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
