City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to teachers through tutoring, mentoring, and behavior support Deliver one-on-one and small-group academic interventions in subjects like math and English Build positive relationships with students to support social-emotional development Track and report student progress using City Year tools and school data Support school-wide initiatives, events, and positive school climate activities Participate in ongoing City Year and AmeriCorps trainings and professional development Collaborate with a diverse team of AmeriCorps members and school staff Communicate regularly with partner teachers and supervisors about student needs Model positive behavior, attendance, and a commitment to service Engage families and community partners as appropriate to support student success Youth mentoring Small-group and one-on-one tutoring Classroom support and management Data entry and progress tracking Basic educational technology (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office) Written and verbal communication Time management and organization Team collaboration Conflict de-escalation and behavior support Cultural competence and working with diverse communities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background and reference checks Completion of City Year and AmeriCorps pre-service training TB test and district-specific clearances (as required)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
