City Year seeks an Academic Tutor and Mentor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this Education, Training & E-Learning role, you will provide individualized and small-group tutoring, mentor students, and assist teachers with classroom activities. You will track student progress, support a positive school climate, and collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team. City Year offers a collaborative, inclusive culture focused on social justice, leadership development, and professional growth through training and daily practice. Provide individualized and small-group academic tutoring in core subjects Mentor students to build confidence, motivation, and social-emotional skills Support teachers with classroom activities and behavior management Monitor and document student progress and attendance Communicate regularly with school staff about student needs and progress Help create an inclusive, positive, and safe learning environment Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Engage in family and community outreach activities as needed Collaborate with AmeriCorps teammates on school-wide projects and events Tutoring in core academic subjects (reading, writing, math) Classroom support and facilitation Student mentoring and relationship-building Basic data tracking and progress monitoring Behavior management support Communication with educators and staff Time management and organization Cultural competency and inclusivity practices Basic educational technology tools Documentation and record-keeping Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Background check eligibility Ability to meet AmeriCorps/City Year service requirements Experience working or volunteering with youth (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
