City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide academic and social‑emotional support to students in partner public schools Tutor students one-on-one and in small groups in core subjects Collaborate with teachers to track student progress and implement support plans Lead or assist with classroom activities, after-school programs, and school events Build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff Collect and enter data on student attendance, behavior, and coursework Participate in regular training, coaching, and professional development Serve as a positive role model committed to equity and social justice Student mentoring Classroom support Tutoring in math Tutoring in English/ELA Behavior management support Data entry and progress tracking Lesson and activity facilitation Communication with teachers and staff Basic technology use (Google/Microsoft tools) Community and family outreach Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including citizenship or legal residency requirements) Ability to pass required background checks for working in schools Commitment to a full-time service term (typically 10–12 months)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
