City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide classroom and small-group academic support in core subjects Mentor and coach students to build social-emotional and leadership skills Track and report student progress using school and City Year tools Collaborate daily with teachers and school staff to support learning goals Engage families and community partners in school-based activities Participate in ongoing training, reflection, and professional development Support whole-school events, arrival, dismissal, and lunch/recess duties Model positive behavior and uphold City Year and school culture values Student mentoring Tutoring in core subjects (math, ELA) Classroom support Behavior management Data entry and progress tracking Communication with teachers and staff Youth development practices Community outreach Time management Basic computer skills (Google Suite, email) Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps per federal guidelines Ability to pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and school district Proof of high school diploma/equivalent or higher U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident status (typical AmeriCorps requirement)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
