City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small-group academic tutoring to students during and after school Support teachers in managing classrooms and reinforcing lesson objectives Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to support social-emotional growth Track and report student progress using established tools and data systems Assist with planning and leading school-wide events and community service projects Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team and school staff to meet student needs Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Communicate regularly with supervisors about progress, challenges, and goals Model positive behavior, attendance, and professionalism for students Engage families and community partners in supporting student success, as appropriate Academic tutoring (English/Language Arts and/or Math) Youth mentoring and relationship-building Classroom support and behavior management Data entry and student progress tracking Basic computer skills (Google Workspace or Microsoft Office) Communication (written and verbal) Collaboration and teamwork Time management and organization Cultural competency and working with diverse communities Facilitation of group activities or workshops Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background check for service in schools Commitment to full-time AmeriCorps service term5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
