City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to students in partnership with teachers Offer small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects Mentor students to build social-emotional skills and confidence Support positive behavior, attendance, and engagement initiatives Help create an inclusive, welcoming classroom and school environment Participate in ongoing training, reflection, and professional development Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team and school staff Assist with school events, family engagement, and after-school programs Track and document student progress and participation Uphold City Year and AmeriCorps service standards and values Tutoring and academic support Classroom support techniques Youth mentoring Behavior management and de-escalation Basic data tracking and documentation Time management and reliability Collaboration and teamwork Cross-cultural communication Basic computer and office software use Facilitation of small groups Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or equivalent required U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident Able to pass background check Commitment to full-time AmeriCorps service term Experience working with youth (preferred) Bilingual skills (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
