City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class academic and mentoring support to students in partner public schools Lead small-group or one-on-one tutoring and homework help sessions Build positive, inclusive relationships that foster students’ social-emotional growth Track and report student progress using City Year tools and guidelines Collaborate with teachers and school staff to align support with classroom goals Participate in regular training, coaching, and professional development sessions Support school-wide activities, events, and attendance initiatives Model City Year’s values of service, equity, and teamwork every day Student support strategies Tutoring and academic support Classroom assistance Youth mentoring Behavior management Data entry and progress tracking Collaboration with teachers Community outreach Time management Basic computer skills (Google/Microsoft Suite) Eligible to serve as an AmeriCorps member (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident; meets AmeriCorps requirements) Ability to pass required background checks Commitment to completing a full-time AmeriCorps service term5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
