City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide small-group and one-on-one academic support in subjects such as math and English Offer in-class support to teachers, reinforcing lessons and classroom routines Mentor students to build attendance, behavior, and social-emotional skills Assist with planning and leading after-school programs and enrichment activities Support school-wide events, family engagement, and community-building activities Track student progress and document intervention activities and outcomes Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Collaborate with teammates, teachers, and school staff to align student support Model inclusive, respectful behavior and uphold City Year’s service values Maintain professionalism, reliability, and a full-time service schedule throughout the term Tutoring and academic support Classroom support and behavior management Youth mentorship Basic data tracking and documentation Communication (written and verbal) Collaboration and teamwork Time management and organization Cultural competency and inclusivity Conflict resolution and de-escalation Basic technology skills (e.g., email, docs, spreadsheets) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks required for working in schools Commitment to full-time AmeriCorps service term Experience working with youth (preferred, not required)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
